Health Insurance and Prescription Drug Programs
Many public insurance programs are available to provide New York State residents with health insurance coverage. These include Medicaid, Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus, and Medicare. Programs are also available to help people afford prescription drugs.
Information on these programs is available through the New York State Department of Health’s Health Insurance webpage. Additional information on providing health insurance for children is available here.
The Healthcare Consortium provides assistance to Greene and Columbia County residents in applying for public health insurance coverage through its Covering the Uninsured program. The Healthcare Consortium also helps residents apply for prescription drug assistance through its Prescription Access program.
